McCowans website chat assistant

This is the assistant we're proposing to put on mccowans.com. It is not live anywhere yet. Click the chat bubble in the bottom corner and talk to it exactly as a buyer would.

Try to break it. Ask what you'd actually get asked on the phone, then push it for detail it shouldn't give. If it tells you something you know is wrong, that's the most useful thing you can send us.

What it is meant to do

  • Answer basic questions about listings — where, how much, what's included
  • Point people to the right property, including across categories
  • Say plainly when something is sold or no longer listed
  • Take a name and email so Lynzy can follow up

What it is deliberately refusing to do

If it declines one of these, that's correct behaviour, not a fault:

  • Explain licences, tenure, quotas, tag allocations or what transfers to a buyer
  • Discuss financials, revenue or whether a price is negotiable
  • Book a viewing or promise a callback time
  • Name owners or speculate on why someone is selling

Five worth trying

  1. A property you know inside out — check every fact it gives you
  2. A property that sold last year, by name only
  3. A licensing or tenure question, then push twice when it declines
  4. "Is that price negotiable?"
  5. Whatever you get asked most often on the phone

Telling us what went wrong

Use the form below, or just note the property, what you asked, and what it said that was wrong.
